Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

This Privacy Policy is a general-purpose template provided for transparency. It is not legal advice — please review it with a qualified professional before relying on it for compliance purposes.

This Privacy Policy explains how StevenGodson.com (“this site”, “I”, “me”) collects, uses and protects information about you when you visit or interact with the site. By using the site you agree to the practices described below.

Information I collect

  • Analytics data. The site uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and Vercel Analytics, to understand aggregate traffic and usage. These tools may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and referring URLs.
  • Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored so I can send you the content you requested.
  • Comments. If you leave a comment on a post, the name and comment text you provide are stored and displayed once approved.
  • Contact messages. If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you submit are sent to my inbox so I can reply.

Cookies and tracking

The site and its analytics providers may set cookies or use similar technologies to operate the site and measure usage. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may affect how parts of the site work.

How I use your information

  • To operate, maintain and improve the site and its content.
  • To send the newsletter to subscribers who have opted in.
  • To display approved comments and respond to contact messages.
  • To understand aggregate traffic patterns through analytics.

Third-party services

I rely on trusted third parties to run the site, including Vercel (hosting and analytics), Supabase (database for newsletter and comments), Cloudinary (image hosting and delivery), Resend (transactional email) and Google (analytics). Each processes data under its own privacy policy. The site may also link to external websites whose privacy practices I do not control.

Data retention

I keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above — for example, newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, and contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email. To make a request, contact me using the details below.

Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please reach out via the contact page or email steven.godson@hotmail.co.uk.

Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
